November TBR and NaNoWriMo!

Ok, so I know I am a couple days late but, it’s ok. I am here now. Everything is OK!

So, I was debating on whether or not to do a TBR for this month as this month is also NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I have decided to take the plunge and give it a go for the first time. Because of this, I was debating on a TBR.

The conclusion I have come to is that I am not exactly going to do a TBR. What I am going to do is work on finishing the 3 books that I have going. They are Outlander, Geek Girl, and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Those will keep me busy for a while and I would like to get my currently reading books down to 0 by the end of the year. That way I can start the new year off fresh!

So, since I am doing NaNo, this month I will be giving you some updates on how I am doing. Right now I am in the “I haven’t got a freaking clue what I am doing” faze…. I am finding out that I am totally over thinking everything and am focusing on how to keep everything organized rather than just writing. All these ideas in my head and I have yet to write them down….. I think this may be what they mean by “inner editor” and I need to find a way to shut her off. At least for now. I am going to try to just write everything down that is in my head right now throughout this month and then I can work on fixing things next month. That is what I want to try to do. Maybe that will help me at least get back on track with my word counts. Right now I am behind by at least a couple thousand words. I can do it though! It is still early and I started off strong on day one. I actually wrote more than I needed so that helped me from getting to far behind.

Well, that’s all I got for you right now. I will be back soon to update on how everything is going and if I get caught up on my word goals πŸ˜‰

Thanks for reading! ❀

October Read and Haul!

So, I didn’t have a lot of time to do a blog for my October updates today and I will be gone all day tomorrow. So here is a video! It’s unedited so, sorry about that. I wasn’t kidding about have to be quick πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading and watching!!! ❀

What’s Going On!?

So, what’s going on with all you? How are you all? What are you currently reading? Me? Not a whole lot unfortunately 😦

I really haven’t stuck to my originally planned TBR so far this month and I feel kind of bad for it. Kind of. I haven’t really touched Outlander much and haven’t touched Geek Girl at all. I am reading Cinder though since that is a buddy read on Goodreads. I am quite enjoying it so far once I pushed past the first 20 or so pages. I was briefly worried that I wasn’t going to like this book. It just didn’t seem that interesting at first but now things are getting good. So good in fact that I quickly got ahead of my buddy……Oops. It’s ok though. I am just setting it off to the side for now to giver her a chance to catch up so we can read it together like we are supposed to πŸ˜‰ Totally my fault! Oh well.

While I wait for her, I have decided to pick up Asylum by Madeleine Roux. After thinking about my TBR, I couldn’t believe I didn’t have a Holloweenish book to read included. So, I had to remedy that of course. I LOVE Halloween!!! ❀ I also was a bad girl and went to the library last week and of course, you can’t leave the library empty handed! I had picked up 4 books while I was there. Definitely one of the books I wont be finishing is Haunted by James Herbert. It just didn’t capture my interest.

The other 3 books are books that I do want to read and have wanted to for a while. They are The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han, Β and A Thousand Pieces Of You by Claudia Gray. A Thousand Pieces Of You is what I started first. I am only 22 pages in but, I already love it. This book will be my focus on Saturday which is also the Dewey 24 hour read a thon. For me, it starts at 8am and goes until 7:55am Sunday. The hubby is going to be gone all day so it will just me and the kiddos stuck at home so, we are making it a reading day! πŸ™‚ I am very excited. I should be able to get a good chunk of the book done Saturday but I more than likely wont finish it. I guess it depends on how much farther I get into it between now and then. Tomorrow is going to be my cleaning day though so I can read all day guilt free on Saturday πŸ˜‰

Once I finish these library books though, I am going to go back to reading the books I own. I felt kind of guilty getting books from the library when I have so many good books waiting to be read that I own. It’s ok though. I will still get them all read πŸ˜‰ I think November and December I will be focusing on finishing all the books I have started……Which is quite a few……. I want to be down to 0 currently reading by the end of the year! Unless I am actively reading the book I would be currently reading. LOL!

Well, that’s it for this post! Talk to you all latter!

Thanks for reading!!!!! ❀

October TBR!

Ok! It is October!!!! What has happened to this year!?

I do LOVE October though. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I look forward to it every year! We always dress up and have a party with our friends and it just makes me so happy πŸ™‚ This year, one of our best friends is getting married on Halloween! I think that is so cool! Last year another of our best friends got married just a few days before Halloween which is still cool! It was trick-or-treating night in our town which made things interesting for those of us with kids. We expect the same thing to happen this year but, since its earlier in afternoon, I am not sure how things are going to go. We will find out when we get there! I love a challenge πŸ˜‰

Anywho. On to my reading plans for this month!

As it is going to be a pretty busy month, I don’t plan on reading much more than I already have. I have already read 3 books so far…… I finished the LUX series……. AMAZING!!!!! More on that latter though! For the rest of the month I just plan on reading/finishing 3 books. I am going to finish Geek Girl by Holly Smale and I plan to finish Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (I finally got my own copy!!!!!). As that one is a larger book and I am only 10 chapters in, I will honestly be surprised if I do get it finished this month but, I am going to try!!! I am also doing a buddy read in one my Goodreads groups and we decided to read Cinder by Marissa Meyer. This is my main focus since it is a buddy read, obviously. It is pretty good so far. I have to admit I wasn’t so sure about this book at the start. It is just so different from my normal reads. I haven’t really gotten into the whole syfy thing before this and the LUX series but, having heard amazing things, I had to check them out. So far, I have not been disappointed. I am interested to see where this series goes πŸ™‚

Well, there you have it! 2 blogs in one day! Hopefully it’s not too much for you. Since I knew what I wanted to say in both, I just wanted to go ahead and get them done so I am not keeping anyone waiting any longer πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading!!!!! ❀

September/Read A Thon Wrap Up!

Alrighty then! I am back to semi normal again! I was sick all last week and I haven’t felt that bad and drained in a very long time. And it was just a cold! With a mix of really bad sinuses and allergies…… All I have left to do is go back to the doc to get a flu shot and then I can put this all behind me. Kiddos wont be happy though because I will be taking them with me to get their flu shots as well…… Its a necessary evil 😦

Anyway. On with the updates!!!!

Ok. So first I am going to do the Read Your Book Shelf A Thon wrap up. I completely finished 3 books and read half of the 4th book before the end of the week! In pages, I read a total of 1082 pages!!!! That is a lot for me! It did help that I was sick for most of the read a thon so all I did was read because I didn’t have energy to go anywhere or even clean. A huge positive to reading! The books I read during the read a thon were Falling Kingdoms and Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes and I finished Obsidian and read half of Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Both series are amazing!

Now for the September wrap up! Just read the above paragraph πŸ™‚ LOL!!!!! Yes, that’s all that I read in September with the exception that I DID finish Onyx by the end of the month. So I read a total of 4 books last month and that makes me happy. That’s the amount of books I shoot for finishing each month anyway. I just read them all in just over a week instead πŸ™‚

Well that is all for this post! I will talk to you soon with my October TBR!!!!

Thanks for reading!!!! ❀

Quick Update!

Hey guys! Sorry I have been MIA the last week. I have been really sick and haven’t had much energy to do anything at all. Except read. Ah the wonderful benefit of books!

Any who….. I will have a couple blogs coming your way very soon. They will be about how I did in the Read Your Book Shelf A Thon, all the books I read in September, and then my October TBR. I am hopefully going to get at least one of them done tomorrow. Sorry for the delay but, they are coming! I just wanted to let you all know what was going on! πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading! ❀

Read Your Bookshelf A Thon Update!

I have finished book 2 of the read a thon! Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes was an awesome read! I am thoroughly enjoying this series and I can’t wait until I can go and get the 3rd book! I also found that the 4th book is due to come out December 15th this year! I am sooooooo excited, can you tell!? πŸ˜‰

Falling Kingdoms is a series that will give you all kinds of feels from happiness to crying, to shock and horror. Its got a world that is rediscovering magic and a blood thirsty king with his obsession for power. Its got romance, heartache, betrayal, and rebellion. OMG, this series has given me such a book hangover that I have only gotten 21 pages into the Lux series so far…… And this is the series I was most excited to get to! I highly suggest to everyone who has not read this series yet, to go get it and read it NOW!

So, yeah. Besides me falling in love with the Falling Kingdoms series, I am excited that I actually finished 2 books so far and may be able to even finish a third! Or at least a good chunk of it since I will have to work the next 2 days πŸ™‚ Its all good though. Honestly I have already read more than I really thought I would. So I would not be disappointed at all if I don’t finish this one in time. I am still going to try though!

I am already liking it! What book nerd isn’t going to fall in love with a book blogging character!? Am I right!? I love reading stories about book nerds and bloggers/writers. It fascinates me because it makes me think of things that I want to do with my life. Which is to work with books! That would be heaven.

Well, that’s all I can think of for right now! Its getting late in my timezone so my brain tend to try and shut down on me….. Little does it know…….well, actually it has to know…….. that I am going to make it read for a while longer before I have to go to bed. Blasted work that I don’t want to be too tired for!

Talk to you latter!

Thanks for reading!!!!! ❀

Fall Is Officially Here!!!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!! Fall is here!!!!!! Yes that’s right. Today is the first day of Fall and I couldn’t be happier! Fall is my favorite season of the year. A truly magical time for me πŸ™‚ I was so excited that Fall was upon us that I thought it was last month…….. I felt like an idiot after that one…… LOL!!!! πŸ™‚ Oh well, it is here now and that is all that matters to me!

So, other than that, I am excited that I finally finished a book! I know right!? It has been forever!

I finished Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes. It was the first book I chose for the Read Your Book Shelf A Thon that started yesterday and goes until the 29th. I finished Falling Kingdoms and started Rebel Spring which is the second book of the series. I am really liking it and am at a point that it’s hard to put the book down. It’s going to be a shame when I finish this one and have to wait till I can go and get the third one. Then hopefully the fourth one will have come out or will be soon after (I believe it is a 6 book series) so I can get that one as well! As of right now I am almost half way done with Rebel Spring and will definitely be finishing it before the end of the read a thon. So I will be starting a new series once I finished this book.

The next series up is the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I have heard great things about this series and I am excited to start it! It will be my first Alien series I have ever read. I am wanting to try something new and with all the great things I have heard about this series and Jennifer L. Armentrout herself so I figured this is a great place to start! I, for one, am very excited! I have the first 4 books of the series because I got the 2 special edition bind ups of the books. So, I will only have to get the fifth and final book of this series for it to be complete! I have had them for a few months now and the only reason I haven’t started them before now was because of all the other books I had already had going. This read a thon has helped motivate me to finally finish a couple books that have been on my TBR since March! I am thankful for that and will be doing many more read a thons in the future!

Now, as excited as I am about Fall being here and talking about books, I’m going to get off here and go read more! I would love to finish Rebel Springs tomorrow. Friday at the latest πŸ™‚

Talk at ya latter!!!!

Thanks for reading!!!!! ❀

Cabin Weekend!

So! Cabin weekend was awesome!!!! I miss it so much already! I really need to go camping more……

We left Friday night after Moira was done cheering at her game. Grandma and Grandpa showed up as well so they and the kiddos stayed and watched the rest of the game. They had a lot of fun doing it too! We had left and started heading for Chain-O-Lakes! It was dark out by that time and there was a storm rolling in. It was really pretty watching the lightning across the horizon and behind all the trees! I couldn’t get a good picture of the lightning unfortunately.

We arrived at the cabin at around 9:30 and got the car unloaded just in time for the rain! Well, we kind of stuck in it a bit….. We got everything that couldn’t get wet inside just in time and we finished just before it started to pour! I read out on the porch and sat in the swing and read while watching and listening to the storm. It was heaven!

The next morning, Michael and I were the first ones up and everyone else followed shortly after. I helped our friend Jen make biscuits and gravy for breakfast (OMG, SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!) and then we started playing D&D!!! These are some pictures I took while everyone was finishing eating…….

IMG_0691 IMG_0692 IMG_0693 IMG_0694

After breakfast we started playing. We played from around 9 or 10 in the morning until around 12:30 at night! We only took a couple food breaks throughout the day during which, we watched the old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon! It was so funny comparing the cartoon to how things work in the game and I think we all were in agreement that Eric needed to be slapped around a bit because of how whiny and selfish he was πŸ™‚ LOL!

We also had a fun little challenge to keep us going through the game as well! Our friend Austin when to the store in the campgrounds to get some orange juice to go with breakfast and came back with these HUGE jaw breaker type suckers! We started them in the early afternoon and sucked on them for HOURS!!!!

IMG_0695 IMG_0697 IMG_0701

5 out of 7 people finished them! Once we started, we just couldn’t stop. It was like we had to defeat our own personal enemies! It was fun but, our tongues and taste buds paid the price! But, it was worth it!!!!!

Sunday we had to pack up and head home. We didn’t get to go hiking because of the rain and I didn’t get to read a whole lot…… Obviously πŸ˜‰ It’s all right though. I’ll make up for it this week!

It was a bitter sweet ending to the game this time. We all survived when we expected a couple of us at least to die and we saved the world! We had finished this campaign after over 6 years of playing. We had grown to love our characters after all this time and though we are happy they all lived, we wont be playing them anymore. However, there will still be cabin trips to look forward to as we are starting a brand new campaign with Alex being the DM instead of his brother Travis. I am going to be sad for a little while at not playing Anastrianna anymore but, I am excited to be starting a new character and new campaign. A whole new adventure and I have no idea what to expect. Makes it all very exciting!

The Time Has Finally Arrived!

Its cabin weekend!!!!! I am soooooo incredibly excited!!!!! We are all packed and ready to go! We just have to put everything in the car. Want to know what books I am taking? Of course you do!

So, besides taking my Nook that has over 200 books on it (including ones I have read πŸ˜‰ ), I am also taking Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and Lux Beginnings (the bind up of the first 2 books) by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I have been wanting to read this for a while! It will be my first Alien type book and I can’t wait to give it a try! I have heard nothing but good things about this series πŸ™‚

I kind of put Harry Potter down for the moment. I know it wont last long. I did just put a hold on the audio book of it from the library. I am loving it of course, I just can’t seem to get past how big the book is and I am too impatient to get some of the other books (like Falling Kingdoms) that I have started, finished. So I am going to work on finishing those while I wait for the audio book to make its way to my phone πŸ™‚

Well, that is all I have for you this time! I need to get off of here and finish getting things around. I can’t wait to get going! It may have been raining all day but it hasn’t dampened my spirits! Just makes for perfect reading weather πŸ˜‰

See ya next time!

Thanks for reading!!!!! ❀
